CONCEPT: The idea is to reflect on what happened to artists and their works of art who were unable to exhibit for a long time due to the frozen cultural sector. An artistic reflection on the times of the long-lasting pandemic and what this means for the production process and its sometimes complex processes. Because series of works are usually developed or further developed in the continuous work process - at least with professional artists.
What works have remained hidden from people or have perhaps even been discarded again in the knowledge that they could not be shown at all? What "beauties" have we missed out on? What does it do to us humans when we can no longer communicate our creativity directly? What changes have the art scene and the recipients of works of art undergone and what social losses are associated with this? Will the reduction due to the prevented and direct perception of works of art have an impact on their quality or, on the contrary, will it be compensated for by an abundance of concentrated creativity? What individual experiences will be evident in the works? Will only those survive that are "marketable" and thus die out in experimental and young art, like unwatered plants? Will the market separate the "beacons" from the entire middle range and the young talent and invest, if at all, only in "colorful stocks"? Fear has long since arrived in the art scene. But what opportunities does a crisis-related assessment of the situation offer? Let's see what our colleagues have to say about this. We would like to put "prevented beauties" up for discussion with your works.
All in all: Both current positions and works from the entire creative period are submitted for the exhibition.
We cordially invite you and your friends to the opening on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 7 p.m.
